Is acrobatic flying resreved for military pilots only?

Acouple of days ago I watched the Red Bull Air Race finals in Perth and I wonder who are those pilots. Are they all military pilots or are they airline pilots?

Is it enough to have the medical class 1 for acrobatic flying?...or is there a special medical exam for them?

Ah I麓m so ignorant, yeah but I`ve never thought about this before.

Thanks in advanceIs acrobatic flying resreved for military pilots only?Don't forget the International Aerobatic Club -- IAC. You can find all the information you need to even participate at whatever level you chose.

Usually, they will use military personel because, they have to be allowed to fly the fighter jets, otherwise, a normal plane usually can't manuvour as well. Also have to have the authorization to operate the planes. Is acrobatic flying resreved for military pilots only? No, most are not military pilots or airline pilots. I have been to a lot of airshows, met these pilots, and even was involved in interviewing some for an Airshow talkshow. Most of these pilots started out with their private pilot's license, though General Yeager started as a military pilot.

Aerobatic pilots include Patty Wagstaff (one of the few female pilots), Sean D. Tucker (well known for the 1-800-COLLECT ads a few years back), Chuck Yeager (first person to break the sound barrier), and the Red Devils/Eagles team of Tom Poberenzy, Gene Soucy, Charlie Hillard (died from plane landing accident).

There are many many more, these are just a few that I have met during my work with Sun 'n Fun Flight Convention in Lakeland Florida. http://www.sun-n-fun.org/content/

Another humongous flight convention, if you can't make it to Florida in the spring time, is Oshkosh AirVenture in Wisconsin in the fall. http://www.airventure.org/

(By the Way, air acrobatics is referred to as 'aerobatics'.)Is acrobatic flying resreved for military pilots only?
Any pilot with a private airman certification or above can perform aerobatic maneuvers, provided the aircraft is certified in the aerobatic category and the pilot has the proper training. Is acrobatic flying resreved for military pilots only?In Canada, you don't even need the proper training, if you don't carry passengers.

To perform at airshows, you must meet very high standards before you can perform. Is acrobatic flying resreved for military pilots only?
no you dont need to be military or airline all you need is a private pilot rating with an aerobatic endorsement. that is what you need to be a crop duster even.
No, don't need to be military or airline pilot. Although they are usually the ones with big bucks to afford the toys.

Aerobatic flying demands a lot of stamina. So they are physically fit.

Beside the airplane being rated for the maneuvers, most of them are classified as experimental and restricted on where they can fly.
