Whats the difference between these military branches?

Air Force

Marines

Navy

Coast Guard

Army

rangers ?

i want to join some sort of military but i dont know what the difference is between all these or the pros and cons and what not.Whats the difference between these military branches?First off, the Rangers is apart of the Army. They are considered a special operations unit within the ARmy. The Airforce obviously would include air raids or any other operations involving a jet. The Marine Corps in my opinion is one of the finest branches in this country. Their job is normally to invade a country and it is very convenient for them because they are normally transported by the navy. They ussually do amphibious assualts which can be really deadly. The Marine corps has a proud tradition of getting the job done with less. They have more "out dated" equipment while the army gets the newer stuff. The Navy controls the Sea, The Coast guard deals with rescue operations over sea. And the Army normally goes in after the Marine Corps. THe Army can be cool because you get more options for your job. YOu can go airborne, rangers, green beret.. etc... But no matter what anyone says there is no better branch, they all simply have different jobs. As for me though, i like the Marine Corps better and thats just what suits me best.Whats the difference between these military branches?the Air Force conducts aerial warfare, the Army is responsible for land warfare operations, the Marines conduct amphibious landings and provide security for warships. The United States Marine Corps have not conduct any amphibious landings since the Korean War, 60 years ago. The marines supposedly have a longer recruit training than the army with 4 more weeks, but that can be argued because the Army has OSUT which is longer then the marine boot camp. the Navy conducts naval warfare, the Coast Guard's roles is maritime safety and maritime security. In reality the U.S coast guards are the smallest branch in the military and not the Marines. Rangers are a SOF in the Army and not its own branch.
