What is the bright green military cord for?

It's the shoulder cord on the dress uniform and I don't know what branch of the military it's for. It's bright green and I think it has a brass tip. It's just green no other color. What is the bright green military cord for? It's the French Fourragere. It's not specific to a branch but to Military units that were awarded it during World War II. When you get assigned to a unit that has it you are authorized to wear it since it is a unit award. Once you leave that unit to one that is not authorized it must be taken off. It is the highest award given in the French Army. What is the bright green military cord for?It signifies what military branch you are in.

Solid Green is Army. But you say bright green so it may be military police.
