Whats the difference between the Military branches?

I know Navy is water,Air force deals with flying and army is land based.

What are the other differences between them? what do each one entail? doe you have to be on planes if your in the air force and for the navy are you always dealing with boats and stuff.

I'm 17 and a female and i need to know which one i should join and what i could do in each one and which would be best. I'm looking to do a sort of support role in the military.Whats the difference between the Military branches?Hello Kemi,

In the Air Force less than 5% of the 1/4 million people have anything to do with flying airplanes.

Most of us are IN support jobs that help the flying mission and the air base operate.

In the Navy most of the jobs are direct ship related work. Many females do go out to sea.

Go here to read all the different job descriptions of all the services.

Scroll down to "Enlisted Jobs"

Go to the book store and buy (Under $20) a Practice for the ASVAB military aptitude tests. Work the book. You will have to take the ASVAB exam for any branch of the military to find out what jobs you are qualified for.

Best wishes,

All have land based support functions. A lot of those are about the same in all branches. The ordering, handling, testing, and distributing equipment, ordinance, and other materiel would be similar. So are train ing functions and planning. There is differences strategies and even more differences in tactics but the general missions are the same: attack, hold, and defend. The latter two are not always the same.

Only soldiers and marines regularly use small arms and then only the combat units, but all military are obligated to use those if the need arises. All three branches have special units that are expert with a variety of munitions. All three also have police units familiar with small arms.

The greatest difference was in heavier weapons and means of transport but even those have been somewhat standardized as missiles are replacing guns and bombs for many functions, and as the demarcation between transport blurs. Long ago it was claimed the army had more "boats" -- but probably not more ships -- than the navy. I also heard a statement that they had more "aircraft" than the Air Force or Navy, but I suspect most are helicopters. I think someone told me that the Navy had more aircraft than the Air Force, but I suspect that only has been so since WWII as some of the Air force's responsibilities moved to the more mobile Navy.Whats the difference between the Military branches?Air Force deals with more mathematics. They use their minds more than they use their muscle. Navy not really sure I think you do a lot of mathmatics and sailing. Army and Marines are kinda the same things expect Marines are more combat orientated. So it depends on what job you want talk to a recruiter and see what's out there for you.Whats the difference between the Military branches?
No you dont need to be in a plane in the airforce you can help construct them, and for the navy you could be on shore duty it depends what job you get, go to your recruiter then go to MEPS take the ASVAP and they will find the job thats best for you.Whats the difference between the Military branches?most jobs in he air force are not flying jobs theirs alot of computer work and mechanics same with navy although most work is done on ships for them they have navy bases were they stay when not at sea but they still have to do workWhats the difference between the Military branches?
You can be on a plane in the Navy. And you can be on a boat in the Army.
