Christians, writing fantasy story is not a sin, right?

I always like fantasy story / fairytale %26amp; RPG games (such as Final Fantasy,ArTonelico, Ragnarok Online, etc) with magic element. The magic I meant here is totally imaginary magic, not like real occult referenced magic in Harry Potter.

I'm currently writing that kind of fantasy story.

BUT even though I like stories with magic element, I have ABSOLUTELY have NO intention to practice real sorcery or something like that!

Bible clearly forbids sorcery but it referred to "real practiced sorcery", not the fiction / simply imaginative magic written in a human made story, right?

I need confirmation about this.

What do you think?Christians, writing fantasy story is not a sin, right?
personally - i think youre fine. youre just exploring your imagination and expressing it writing, there's nothing against that in the bible! in fact writing can be a fantastic way to evangalise - i mean take The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S.Lewis; his fantasy stories have many elements of magic, dark and good, and imaginery creatures etc, and is one of the most famous well loved fictional stories, yet it also has the underlining christian element. i dont anyone can imagine how many peoples lives and faiths that narrative has effected!!!

and there are plenty more authors, and artists, who have faith and yet ae interested in fantasy.

i do not think you're doing anything wrong; you're scribing an imagination God has given you; use and empower other people and/or their faiths through it :)
Greetings...

That fact that you are concerned makes the big difference to me. Good job.

Fantasy is a good thing in Limited amounts. Imagination is what helps you dream the impossible dream. Imagination is where u go to find out who you are, who you want to be and how to get there.

Keep one thing in mind when writing: Not everyone who reads your book will be as open minded as you are. Also, there may be some that will be influenced by your use of magic, spells, incantations, etc. Be careful.

Lastly, If you are creating /writing the book and are a christian, try writing your book to encourage young Christians to seek the Father in your stories. You could make it a quest. Nuf said.

well, if you want to get technical about it, which I assume you do, because you claim Harry Potter is bad, Final Fantasy lets you call upon pagan gods to do your bidding.

Shiva, Ifrit, Odin... all pagan gods. If you are going to call Harry Potter a reference to the occult, you also need to stop playing and liking Final Fantasy games.

On the other hand, if you are going to call Final Fantasy games fiction, which they are, you can not turn around and call Harry Potter anything other than the fictional work it is.
Writers such as J.L. Tolkien, who wrote Lord of the rings and C. S. Lewis who wrote the Chronicles of Narnia were both devout Christians they used secondary imagery within there stories to spread the gospel message. The word of God does not forbid the writing or telling of fictional stories for entertainment.Christians, writing fantasy story is not a sin, right?
Being a Christian and having written a fantasy novel for kids I have no problems with what you are attempting. C.S. Lewis' novels are fine examples because Aslan represents Jesus. I would be very careful using any magic in your story, though. Deuteronomy 18 beginning about verse nine makes clear that spells, sorcery, witchcraft and wizardry are not from God. However, creating fantasy creatures and using the power of the Holy Spirit(the power of God) is a beautiful way to point people to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
it can be major sin if=

you promote crimes, hate, sex, or back biting

it can be BLESSING, if you talk about a story of young person who is nice to others even so majority of them reducle that person= boy or girl
I sure hope not...I'm in the final stages of editing a science-fiction novel that I hope to have published...not the same as fantasy, but for all intents and purposes, it might as well be.
C.S. Lewis wrote fiction/fantasy stuff, and it is wonderful I think. Especially when there is a strong Christian allegory going on.
I think you need more practice trolling. Not very convincing.
fiction is for the purpose of pure entertainement... its permissible.. dont wory
of course not.

the bible is a fanstasy story :)
as long as your not like worshiping them. lol. of corse not.
