Did you get into Pottermore? And what exactly is it...?

I just got in today, I understand that is an online reading experience that surrounds around the Harry Potter series..but that doesn't really help much in what it is...A gaming site, a forum kind of thing...discussion about the book...

I got in today, the question was sooo easy. Too, easy.

But I'm excited for the welcome emails to get sent out.Did you get into Pottermore? And what exactly is it...?
Its a bit of everything.
Yup, I got in on Day 4. After 3 days of all-nighters, constantly refreshing, and waiting up until 3:00 in the morning, I finally got in with the username SilverShadow. I'm so excited! (I edited my username to take out the numbers in case of hacking....thanks for warning me!)

It's, I guess, part of everything that you said. Pottermore is a virtual interactive "harry potter world." It will include game, roleplaying (in a forum, as you mentioned), and people would talk about the books. I look forward most to being sorted. After being sorted, you can visit your House common room, play games, and earn House Points. The thing that makes this Harry Potter site more special than the other millions out there, is that J.K Rowling herself is participating in this one. It's like being IN the Potter books.

The question was easy today, and you're lucky. The first 3 days, they were obscure and difficult, things like "What is the number of the chapter in which Professor McGonagall cancels the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff? Multiply this number by 42" or “How many breeds of owls were offered on the Eeylops Owl Emporium sign, then multiply this number by 49.”

However, as the week progressed, the questions got easier. Not to mention that in the first few days, it wasn't fair for americans or other people in different time zones since the quill came at about 2:30 in the morning with no notice.

Enough of my ranting now! Enjoy Pottermore, I can't wait for the welcome emails later!Did you get into Pottermore? And what exactly is it...?
I am NightFlame*insert Number here*. U got in yesterday after camping in front of the computer for hours when I realized that the clue was coming out from 2-6 not 7 or 12. Anyway, Pottermore is like an online Hogwarts social network/ gaming thing. You get your own Hogwarts character, your own personalized trunk and stuff. There will also be EBook released on the site and more background stuff about the books. You can also earn house points and stuff- talk to people in the 'common room' as well. Hope this help. More information in the source. :)
Pottermore is sort of like an online virtual Harry Potter world.
JK Rowling explains it a little here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5DOKOt7Z…
But when I first watched that video, I was still as confused as ever, so let me try to explain it in my own words:
Basically, JK Rowling wrote a lot more information about Harry Potter characters, animals, places, etc., but she couldn't put them in the book because then the books would get too long. This extra informtation will be put on Pottermore, and you can revisit every chapter from the Harry Potter books, starting with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and read new stories and see drawings and obtain new information that has to do with that chapter.
You will also get to take part in some key moments, such as the sorting hat. Once you receive your welcome email and get to enter Pottermore, you will take a quiz and get sorted into a house. You will be able to earn points for your house, and help them win the House Cup.
You will also be able to obtain galleons, and buy wizard items.
There will be small games, like Potion making, which will allow you to win points for your house.
In the common rooms, you will be able to chat with people in your house, and in the great hall, you will be able to chat with every Pottermore user.
Pottermore will also have a shop that will sell Harry Potter audiobooks and, for the first time, ebooks.

So, I guess Pottermore is a little of everything you mentioned above (gaming site, forum, etc.). You can't realy compare Pottermore to anything, since it's a completely new idea and hasn't been done before.

Congrats on getting in! I got in on the first day! I hope this clears some things up for you. You will find out everything else once it opens!Did you get into Pottermore? And what exactly is it...?
It's a website that will have new writing from J.K. Rowling, but it is also to sell the Harry Potter ebooks that Rowling has finally approved, which will come out in October.

The questions were supposed to get easier as the days went on. You can read the e-books, earn house points, probably have discussions on forums or something like that. Just watch the video in the top left hand corner of the Pottermore homepage.
Pottermore is an online site where you get sorted by the sorting hat and get your own wand ( theres 33000 to choose from). Its not really a virtual game.. its more like interactive reading? So your a character in the book. I got in. I'm GoldSnitch85!
PLUS J.K. ROWLING IS ADDING MORE INFORMATION ON THE HARRY POTTER SERIES! like what happened later on... i think it's supposed to total up to 10,000 words, which i will assure will go by way too fast :/

but still! i am so freaking EXCITEDD!
I got into Pottermore on day one. My username is HallowWolf (I dont add the numbers as we are getting hacked) It's like an online hogwarts site
Of course you got in, you're American.

The dumb Brits rigged it so for the first days all the British people could get in, now for the last two days all the americans can get in.

don't tell Xenon i said that. he seems to think it's perfectly fair that British people can get on. weird thing is, he's supposedly american. But, he's a Mexican Communist Nazi that seems to think Canada being left out of the game is okay.
potermore is in pennsvlvania.
