Pre-ordering books online?

ok, so im a HUGE fan of the Hunger Games Trilogy and i am impatiently awaiting the arrival of mockingjay :) i've been trying and trying to pre-order it online, off of amazon, barnes and nobles, even borders. I happily order it then afterwards when i look at the shipping date it says " ships in 3-4 buisness days" and it says will ship between aug27th- aug31... well the book is comig out on august 24th so i kinda want itt delivered at my doorstep on august 24th! and im confused because when i ordered the last harry potter book, that's exactly what happened. can anyone explain this ot me? will it really come on august 24th?Pre-ordering books online?
Harry Potter was a special situation. A lot of retailers made special arrangements so the books would be delivered on the release date of the book. Normally books are shipped on the release date or after and arrive 2 to 4 days after the release. If you want Mockingjay right away the best thing to do is pre-order it at a local store so you can pick it up the day it comes out.Pre-ordering books online?
I always pre-order through Borders.com.



Example- My book came out May 4th...it was at my house May 6th. (It actually shipped out at like 11:50pm on the 3rd.) It takes a couple days to get to you, that's why you have to add the 3-4 extra days. So sadly you won't get it (from Borders.com at least, b/c that's how they work) a couple days after. But it still love pre-ordering, it's like buying a present...that I bought myself. Lol.
