Is left 4 dead and left 4 dead 2 worth buying if you don't have xbox live?

I heard the games singleplayer modes are short but have really good online modes but that doesnt apply to me since i dont have xbox live i still do the old school split screen.yes i know they have split screen but my friends mostly play ps3 so i cant do that either. it looks really fun but i dont want to finish it in a weekend and then be bored with it like i was with spiderman 3 or harry potter 5. the same thing happened to me last year when i couldnt decide if i should get quantum of solace and thats short too but i still play it alot cuz im a huge bond fan. anyway just tell me if its worth getting if you know you'll be playing it by yourself the entire time. also should i get unreal tournament 3 and the darkness??Is left 4 dead and left 4 dead 2 worth buying if you don't have xbox live?
not really i got left 4 dead 2 for christmas and at that time i had no live so i tried playing it after i beat all the campaigns it was boring beyond reason but awhile later i got live way different it was awesome so if you have no live don't waste your money if you want a coll game try looking into bioshockIs left 4 dead and left 4 dead 2 worth buying if you don't have xbox live?

left 4 dead 2 is better online. and dont get the darkness really dumb game.
