What is pottermore about?

I'm a Harry Potter fan, but I haven't had time to go online much.

Can someone tell me what pottermore is all about?

What exactly do you do there, is it like a game or something?

Its an interactive version of the books. Where you take the OFFICIAL sorting hat quiz by JK Rowling. You get to basically live through the books.

Having been on there though, it's kinda like an interactive version of the book - you can click on some characters and objects and learn things about them that aren't necessarily in the books - you get sorted and given a wand etc. and there are mini-games, as well as various other things to do, like make potions or duel other users.What is pottermore about?
