My husband is in the army and we will be moving on base with him soon. I was wondering how big the houses are for a family of 3. I guess I want to know if I need to find other places of storage to store some of my sons baby things. I also would like to know what life on base is like? How hard is it to get employment at hospitals on base? What is there to do on base? This is my first time in the military and I haven't been around it ever any input would be greatly appreciated.
How big are the houses on military bases?First of all, I just HAD to say that I LOVE your name (my daughter is named Kyla). But to answer your question, it really depends on where you are stationed. Some bases have really nice, brand new, or just renovated housing and others well........ not so nice, but liveable. For a family of 3 you would be allowed a 3 bedroom house. I have lived on Ft Riley and Ft Gordon and both houses (2 bedroom) were about 1200 sq feet. Not the best condition, but like I said liveable. As for what is there to do, again, depends where you live. There is always an Army Community Service where you can get information about the local community and what there is to do. In fact if you look up the base you are going to online, you may be able to get a welcome packet that will tell you all about the area/base. If you have any questions feel free to email me.How big are the houses on military bases?Military housing will vary from base to base. With a family of three you will be allowed a two bedroom home/apt. Depending on the floor plan you may need to find more storage. The Army tries to provide everything for the soldier and family on post. On the installations you will have things such as a movie theater, bowling alley, library, commissary (grocery store) auto center, swimming pool, and shopping center just to name a few. As a military spouse you would have priority with employment, as far as gaining employment it would depend on where you are located. I wish you and your husband the best with the military.

How did Germany build up such military power house without being preemptively attacked?
Seems to me Germany should have been attacked as early as 1933 based on its military build up.How did Germany build up such military power house without being preemptively attacked? All of the reasons people say they werent attacked are excuses.
France knew damn well when Germany was building up their military in the rhine, and at that time when it began France could've whiped them out, but no.. Britian and America said naaa let them build up
It sall apart of

they let the rabid dog(hitler) take over the blocks and kill, and then when the rabid dog turned on its ally (russia) it sealed its fate, and all the countries moved in and took what the nazis murdered for so they could have it without getting the bad rep in acquiring it
Hitler coulda taken over the world and im glad he didnt

Also, people were still weary of war from WWI and we were in the Great Depression. How did Germany build up such military power house without being preemptively attacked? The German government(which means Hitler) hid everything but their infantry units from the rest of the world. They made cars that that were shaped like war planes, so that all they needed to do was stick wings on its sides to make it fly worthy.
Also, no one wanted to go to war with Germany to begin with. They wanted to negotiate with diplomacy in order to avoid a war.It is a little ironic, prolonged peace actually killed more people later on.

What are the different types of military branches?
I am interested in the military, but I need to know the different branches and stuff. The only one I know is the marines. Can you tell me some others, and maybe a little explanation about what they do? Thanks! What are the different types of military branches? There are 5 branches of the US military -
1. The US Army - comprised of the regular Army (active duty), the Army Reserve and the Army National Guard
The Army mission is to provide to combatant commanders the forces and capabilities necessary to execute the National Security, National Defense, and National Military Strategies. Army forces provide the capability-by threat, force, or occupation-to promptly gain, sustain, and exploit comprehensive control over land, resources, and people. This landpower capability compliments the other Services' capabilities. Furthermore, the Army is charged to provide logistic and other executive agent functions to enable the other Services to accomplish their missions.
2. The US Navy - comprised of the regular Navy (active duty) and the Navy Reserve
The mission of the Navy is to maintain, train and equip combat-ready Naval forces capable of winning wars, deterring aggression and maintaining freedom of the seas.
3. The US Air Force - comprised of the regular Air Force (active duty), the Air Force Reserve and the Air National Guard
The mission of the United States Air Force is to fly, fight and win...in air, space and cyberspace.
4. The US Marine Corps - comprised of the regular Marine Corps (active duty) and the Marine Corps Reserve
The United States Marine Corps serves as an amphibious force-in-readiness. It has three primary areas of responsibility: The seizure or defense of advanced naval bases and other land operations to support naval Campaigns; The development of tactics, technique, and equipment used by amphibious landing forces; and
Such other duties as the President may direct.
5. The US Coast Guard - comprised of the regular Coast Guard (active duty) and the Coast Guard Reserve
The Coast Guard's missions are Maritime Safety, Maritime Security, and Maritime Stewardship. To carry out those roles the Coast Guard has eleven statutory missions as defined in 6 U.S.C. 搂 468What are the different types of military branches?Army = Invade, Occupy, Peace keeping, Ambassadors, Aid providers, Re-builders all in the same combat theater.

How would I go about getting into Military intelligence for the Army?
I am considering joining the military, and would like to join military intelligence like my grandfather did in WW2. My second choice is a gunsmith/armorer, but from what i've read those positions are more of supplies specialists than gunsmiths.
Anyhow, I was wondering how to become a military intelligence soldier, whether you have to pass a certain academic test, or whether you can just sign up, and also what type of positions are involved in military intelligence. thanks for any info you can provide.......How would I go about getting into Military intelligence for the Army?1. How much do military corporations usually make in profit?
I'm talking military hardware, not service. I heard Robert Gates said the f-35 is a 50 million fighter being sold at 100 million. I was wondering what kind of profit these guys make? I went to Wikipedia and look at all the biggest defense contractors. I noticed most of there mark cap (whole size) was at about 40-50 Billion, and there profits were at 1-5 Billion. It doesn't sound like "corrupt war profiting" military industrial complex I always read about. How much do military corporations usually make in profit?I think you need to study a little more, "Market Capitalization" is determined by auction on the stock exchanges based in large part on the expected ROI, not on an objective measurement of the actual capitalization of the firm.

How do civilian prescriptions transfer to military pharmacies?
I just married a soldier, and we are enrolling me in Tricare in the morning. I am wondering what to do about my prescriptions - I have a years worth of refills on one of them. Will I need to get a new prescription from a military doctor or is there a way to transfer my previous prescription from a civilian pharmacy? How do civilian prescriptions transfer to military pharmacies?Welcome to the Army! When I married my soldier I had a really smooth transition with my prescriptions (but I was nervous at first too). Once I got my military ID card I brought that into my pharmacy along with TRICARE's number and they just switched everything in the computer to be billed to my new insurance. One of my prescriptions which was $150 a month went down to $22 and most others are as low as $3! I love it.
I don't know how it works to transfer existing prescriptions to a military pharmacy... but it might be worth it (depending on your situation) to stay with your current pharmacy and just switch your insurance billing info to TRICARE since you already have a years worth of refills. Otherwise you might have to go to your primary care doctor to get new prescriptions, but then the prescriptions might be free through the military pharmacy depending on what it is... That's a toss up! Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions! How do civilian prescriptions transfer to military pharmacies?Your cannot transfer civilian prescriptions or your doctor cannot call them in like a regular pharmacy. Have your doctor that you have been seeing write them all on a prescriptions pad and then you can take them to military pharmacy. Make sure he marks the box that denotes generic brands as many places now use them. You might still have to see a military doctor for some of the drugs you use as the military has a list of drugs that they issue.

What is the diffrence between all the Military Police of the branches?
Army and Marines have Military Police, Marines and Navy have Shore Patrol, Air Force have Security Force and Coast Guard have Maritime Enforcement.
That's the right equivalent for CG right?
What's the difference between all these units and specialties?
Also what about the noncombat Uniformed NOAA and PHSCC, Do they have MPs?What is the diffrence between all the Military Police of the branches? In the CG, we have Maritime Enforcement, but it is completely different than an MP. An MP in another service is generally the police for that particular service (think, an MP in the Navy will arrest a sailor for driving drunk on base). An ME in the CG focuses on maritime enforcement, meaning they're dealing with the security of waterways or doing boardings on vessels. It's a sweet gig, but it isn't like being a cop all that much. What is the diffrence between all the Military Police of the branches?Coast Guard does not have MP's or the equivalent. They are entirely too small too warrant such a rate.calculate percentage maine weather

What percentage of police officers have military experience?
Was wondering what the ratio is of officers who have been in the military vs. those who have not. Seems that police departments like military guys, so I was wondering how usual it is for officers to have/not have a military background.
I was also wondering how important it is to have it if trying to get into law enforcement. What percentage of police officers have military experience?I'm ex-military and have been a cop for the last 17 years. The military background gives you perspective of the discipline expected of you, especially in the basic police academy. Besides that, I don't see any other particular part of ex-military that helps. Military tactics and civilian police tactics are different. (unless you are applying for a job in Afghanistan)
I know that a couple years of any law or justice classes help, as does a degree in Criminal Justice. Police work is changing every day. Some is becoming more political and as we stop car chases and stop using pepper spray and tasers, some departments look more for the higher educated than the militant background.
The things that separate you from the rest are your performance results in the physical and academic testing. Along with a clean background, including the background investigation. The psychological tests and examination weigh heavy too. The steps we have here are written test, physical test, medical exam, psychological exam and an extensive background investigation. If you score high in all of those, it really won't matter if you worked four years in a bakery or the military. Four years of steady employment shows stability regardless where you worked.
And, just a guess - there are about 10% of military on my department of around 1200 sworn. Good luck...What percentage of police officers have military experience?I cannot tell you the percentage... but my boyfriend was a marine before he became a cop. A lot of the guys on the force were too. Some are still active.
I think it's important but not mandatory. What percentage of police officers have military experience?I'd estimate at between 10-20% at my department.

I don't mean current military secrets, I'm mostly looking for pre-Vietnam. Also, Humvee blueprints. What would be the best military doctrine? What is the best way for a medium sized country to protect its independence. Military speaking?militarily speaking, as i observed it, you should only developed one type of military. if the country is land-locked, land army is the most suitable forces. If the country is an archipelago the navy. But that doesn't mean that you should not develop other branch of the military. Its just the priorities.
But I think best way is to solve it diplomatically according to international rules. And the leader should not do something stupid that will give a reason to another country to invade them. What is the best way for a medium sized country to protect its independence. Military speaking?

How long will my husband have to stay at the military hospital?
So my husband has just been in hospital for a week, and he's been told by the canadian forces that he needs to go to a military hospital, which is over an hour away. I'm wondering how long they will keep him there. He has type 1 diabetes, and has to go so they know whether or not he will be medically discharged from the army. Theyre closed for the long weekend, so I figured id ask on here. His levels are pretty stable, but how long will he stay at a military hospital for?How long will my husband have to stay at the military hospital?Until they release him. What should i tell my interviewer when he asks me why i quit the military?
I was in the military but i got out because i wanted to be a full time mom for my son. I don't want to reveal too much of my personal life to the interviewer, so how do i word this? Thank you for all your inputs. What should i tell my interviewer when he asks me why i quit the military?Since you didn't work while you cared for your son, it will be better to say it was a family decision for you to stop working and go back to civilian life in a few years, which you are trying to do right now. People do that all the time. You don't have to say it was your son or anything and they will understand. What should i tell my interviewer when he asks me why i quit the military?

Okay, read over your question. Then read over your first line of your sentence.
That's the reason right there.
Sometimes instead of turning to others, turn into yourelf.
Saying you wanted to be a full time mom is not too personal. Your employer would not think of you as a horrible person because you quit your job.
I hope I've helped you! What should i tell my interviewer when he asks me why i quit the military? There isn't anything wrong with being honest. Especially if you are a single parent, you are taking care of your family. You didn't simply leave the military on a whim, I'm sure it took you some time to decide what was best for you.
I would say "Because my son needed to have me around without being afraid of what might happen."What should i tell my interviewer when he asks me why i quit the military?
Just say it was for family reasons and leave it at that.
I don't see why this is a problem?? The truth usually serves you well, besides what would you come up with instead? I quit 'cause I hated crawling through mud and climbing that damn rope for the 1000th time, and everybody kept telling me what to do. Rules, rules, rules. Bloody hell why don't they ever ease up?
I still don't see a problem with I left to care for my son.

What kind of jobs are there for civilians on a military base working with the airmen?

But I do not want to join the military. What kind of jobs are there for civilians on a military base working with the airmen? You can work in a PX or shoppette, which are retail type jobs. How much does the US spend on Military as opposed to the production of goods?
I'm doing a project on the topic of "Guns or Butter" and I want to give points of reference so people can understand what the United States chooses to do. I was easily able to find the military spending for the US in 2009 but manufacturing is a different story as I cannot find it. Thanks for the help! How much does the US spend on Military as opposed to the production of goods?See http://www.census.gov/manufacturing/m3/a鈥?/a>How much does the US spend on Military as opposed to the production of goods?1. The 'butter" in "guns vs. butter" has almost nothing to do with manufacturing. It is about military expenditures (guns) vs. private consumption of goods and services (butter).
Similarly, "guns" includes all "current" military spending including weapons, pay for military personnel, and pay for civilian employees of the military (for some reason, money spent on veterans is not included as part of the military budget, which makes true comparison harder).
2. The simplest comparison is just total military (i.e. Department of Defense) expenditures as a percentage of GDP.

Is the Knights Hospitaller the only remaining military group still around from crusades?
I know they have gone through a lot of changes since the crusades, but I was wondering if there were any other religious/military groups or orders that have survived to modern day since the crusades. Is the Knights Hospitaller the only remaining military group still around from crusades? The Teutonic Knights also exist. They crusaded against the pagan peoples of the Baltic region - modern Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
There is the smaller military order, the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, that still exists.

What kind of physical shape do you need to be in to join the military?
My friend is applying, but he hurt his wrist and hip in a car accident a year ago and they still give him pain when over exerted, and his wrist doesn't bend 100%. He still manages to play hockey and stuff, with some soreness the next day. What kind of physical shape do you need to be accepted into the military? And if he does get accepted, what about basic training - will they kick him out if they see him struggling with his ailments? I just don't know what kind of training and flexibility and exercises etc there are that might be difficult for him. What kind of physical shape do you need to be in to join the military? The screening process during MEPs will sort out wither or not your friend is eligible to join the Armed Forces. If not he will be denied until he has surgery done, or naturally recovers and gains full use of his wrist and hip.
If he some how slips through the cracks of processing, then he might pay for it during basic. What kind of physical shape do you need to be in to join the military?it will come out during the physical. no use lieing about it. if he has problems in basic and they see old injuries on an xray that arent in his medical profile he would get it for fraudulent enlistment. best thing is to fill out the forms and take the physical. they might let it go. probabl;y some doctors check him out. if he admits to pain after a workout forget it. the military does not want to pay the bills for pre existig conditions. What kind of physical shape do you need to be in to join the military? He will have a very detailed physical at MEPS when he goes to sign his contract. Depending on how serious the doctors think it is, he may have to be seen by other military doctors and get a waiver for it. If he gets in and really starts having problems then he could be discharged...there really is no way of knowing for sure what they will do. It's one of those good ole army "hurry up and wait" things. Sorry I couldn't be more help! Good Luck! What kind of physical shape do you need to be in to join the military?
sadly not really good shape. depending on the branch and the job of course. but as long as you can pass the PT test you can stay in. ive seen some fat asses in the military trust me you dont always need to be in shape but it helps especially if you plan on staying in for a bit.
What economic system is more focused on military?
Is it Socialism, Capitalism, or Communism? Or are all of them focused on military about the same amount? What economic system is more focused on military?Communism rewards soldiers with political positions called Commissars. Socialism and Capitalism use the military to achieve their aims but Communism uses the military as it's own idealogical shock troops.
How do you overturn or appeal a military disqualification?
My fiancee was disqualified from the navy because he collapsed his left lung three years ago and his right lung two years ago. However I read online that this should not be a problem after three years. Why was he disqualified and not rejected until his second lung finished the three year wait period specified by the military? Is there a way to overturn a disqualification? Can he enter a different branch? He is now looking at the army. He desperately wants to serve his country and is overwhelming depressed that he cannot. How do you overturn or appeal a military disqualification?Once the doctor at MEPS determines that the medical condition can or will affect him negatively in the future and the odds of getting a waiver is slim to none, then his career is pretty much tied. Here's another option (from usmilitary.about) he could do if he keeps trying to join and how the recruiting command can help. I've heard that a recruiting commander of the a service that he is applying for (ie: Navy) can technically request a medical waiver from their medical command and by pass MEPS altogether but there are no guarantees that this has to be carried out at your fiance's request . This is solely up to the commander and he/she will consider several options on whether the medical waiver is worth it.How do you overturn or appeal a military disqualification?
I answered your question three weeks ago. It was chosen to be the best answer by voters. He can't enlist because multiple episodes of pneumothorax are disqualifying! That's why he was disqualified. He just wouldn't give up, maybe your fiancee should just keep trying, they may relent if they get sick of seeing him week after week! How do you overturn or appeal a military disqualification?MEPS is the same for all branches. If he is DQed at MEPS the only thing that will help is the passing of time. After a certian period of time with no other problems some medical problems can be waived. Having had two collapsed lungs could furhter complecate things, if they will even consider a waiver. How do you overturn or appeal a military disqualification?
You can't appeak it or have it overturned. I was disqualified for teh USAF in 1990, although it took 12 more years before the same governmetn agreed that I could not work for anyone else either.
Well, I don't have actual knowledge but I doubt seriously he's going to get in with collapsed lungs.

What is the difference between military police officer and military police?
On the U.S. Army web site ( goarmy.com ) I was looking at the careers choices, and there is both a Military Police (31B) and a Military Police Officer (31). And I was wondering what the difference was, if any. and Why are there two different ones? What is the difference between military police officer and military police?Military Police (31B): Enlisted person perform police duties on a military base or for deployed units, limited arrest authority with regard to commissioned officers (2nd Lt and above, %26amp; Warrant Officers)
Military Police Officer (31): commissioned officer who supervises military policeWhat is the difference between military police officer and military police?MP. (military police) is enlisted. Military police officer. Is an officer. LT or higher. There's officers in EVERY carreer path you choose in army and in the military. They give the orders. You do exactly what they say. In order to be an Officer, you have to goto a military academy like west point, citadel, VMI, etc or ROTC at your college, or direct commission. But either way you must have a bachelors degree. I think its a masters degree for direct comission but I could be wrong. Officers make a hell of alot more money then enlisted do but they hardy do any real work what so ever. Other them MPO's or infantry officers, there real lazy, lol. Thats why if you go in the army you never EVER call a NCO espcailly your drill sergeant "SIR". They will in return say "dont call me sir,. I work for a living" and make you do endless amounts of push ups.fashion week 2011 helly hansen

How big are the houses on military bases?

You might still have to see a military doctor for some of the drugs you use as the military has a list of drugs that they issue.google translations travel trailers

How to write a resume for military contractors?
I have worked at the same job as an active duty military and contractor working for 2 different companies. How would I seperate the work history/experience for basically the same job? I did the same thing for all 3 companies. How to write a resume for military contractors?I'm a resume writer, and many people face this conundrum. Same duties, different company name.
In all cases, you'd want to focus on the accomplishments related to a position and company, not simply "what you did" for them (although the two can be deceivingly linked).
In some cases, "what you did" is a given, so you can tread lightly there, favoring instead the quantitative responsibilities you held (i.e, how many people and/or projects you managed over what period of time, any monetary responsibilities and how much over what period of time, etc). P.S. "what you did" can be the short paragraph section underneath your company, job title, years, etc....
In most cases, though, it makes sense NOT to focus on "what you did."
Instead, focus on the outcomes. If you've explored resume writing protocols, you'll find that "outcomes" are also called "accomplishments."
Accomplishments are fantastic ways to demonstrate that you're on your game. And since outcomes have likely been different at your two similar jobs, they should free up any roadblocks you're facing.
Here's how to sort out accomplishments (many people start out feeling like they don't have enough, then end up finding too many). Explore quantitative outcomes from your past positions. List a way you made the place better, or something you led, or an activity or product you enhanced. Then ask yourself, "so what?" Ask yourself what, in terms of numbers/outcomes, made that so special.
You'll soon find an entire list of great outcomes.
Then it's up to you to choose the top 5-8 for each position, rank them, and align them with the needs outlined in a job description.
Be sure to list them as bullet points and voila -- you have yourself a brand new beautiful, metrics-focused resume.

Your can write the job title in bold and list the three different places you worked at below (with start and end dates).
Then list the job activities below.
For example:
Job Title
Company 1 2007 - 2008
Company 2 2004 - 2007
Company 3 2002 - 2004
Activities...

I hope this helps!
Hope this helps!

How to claim common law by military standards?
I've been living with my boyfriend for a year now and he is in the military. So we are common law by their standards. The only thing is we don't have proof that it has been a year. The first 6 months of my living here all my mail, got confused by Canada post. They say I can have a letter from the landlord with both our names on it, but he owns the house. We have thought about that way, or going to a lawyer and getting paperwork there. Wondering if anyone else has any suggestions. How to claim common law by military standards?"Wondering if anyone else has any suggestions"

How many battles did the US military lose in Vietnam?
During the 11+ years of major combat in Vietnam, the US engaged in several major battles. Of these battles, how many did the US military objectively lose?
I've heard that the US never lost a battle it fought in Vietnam, but that seems highly unlikely given the high casualty rate. I would appreciate some clarity on the issue. Thanks! How many battles did the US military lose in Vietnam?NONE. and Nixon negotiated a peace treaty like the one for Korea.
But after he resigned the Democrats cut off funding to South Vietnam, signaling that the US would let this ally fall. How many battles did the US military lose in Vietnam?
None.
Overall, Vietnam casualty rates were low in the scheme of things. Yes they were higher then today's rates in Iraq and Afghanistan, but still far lower then those in World War II or Korea.
Also, when you look at the rates the enemy took it was small. In the end, the enemy was never able to hold ground. Experts believe that had the war continued, the North Vietnamese casualty rates would have won the war in somewhere around 3-5 more years, but the war was lost on political grounds, not military ones or casualty rates.
Also, just like in Iraq and Afghanistan, there were few instances where casualties out of any one engagement were high, it was small numbers over almost a decade.

Jimrose, we won KheSanh. The enemy never took the base. They were repulsed. It was a massive attack that failed in its operational objective. At the end of the battle, the Marines did not retreat and were still standing on KheSanh when the NVA retreated. It was costly, but it was a victory for the NVA and demonstrates why being stuck on defense sucks. I am also sure it didn't feel like a win for those who were there, more like survival. How many battles did the US military lose in Vietnam?we never lost a battle in Vietnam, The only reason the US lost was because we withdrew from there. We lost one Khe Sanh, but that was due to the Washington Politicians who wanted to run the war from Pennsylvania avenue.
We destroyed the viet cong and ARVN in the 68 Tet. But then Johnson called a truce so they could rebuild.
It was not a high casualty rate at all. Spread over those 11 years. Some clarity should show you that. It was nothing compared to Shorter wars, Civil War, WWI, WWII, Middle East.
Why is there no reference to the casualty rate of the N. Vietnamese? Why no reference to the casualty rate of the S. Vietnamese? Mainly because the S. Vietnamese rarely, if ever fought for their own country.
I saw it, I was there. How many battles did the US military lose in Vietnam? We won all the battles, but lost the war. One big problem was that we fought the battles right where and when the Vietnamese wanted us to fight them. They understood that the real way to victory was through media and popular opinion. It has been said that Vietnam was like one side playing chess and the other playing go. The side playing go won the overall conflict.

What are the different types of military lawyers? What is the difference between a JAG and the rest of them?
What kinds of law can you practice in the military? What are the different types of military lawyers? What is the difference between a JAG and the rest of them? All U.S. military officers serving as lawyers are part of the Judge Advocate General's Corps. There are Trial Service Offices and Legal Service Offices. Trial Service is criminal law only. Legal Service is wills, powers of attorney, and limited civil matters relating to deployment. The legal service folks often prepare taxes for military members at no charge, so long as the preparation isn't terribly complicated. What they do NOT do is, anything related to divorce, child custody, property disputes, etc. They'll refer you "downtown" for those. Some attorneys also provide information screening for FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) releases, and legal review for people being administratively separated from the service. What are the different types of military lawyers? What is the difference between a JAG and the rest of them?In Aus the JAG only reviews cases.

Seems to me Germany should have been attacked as early as 1933 based on its military build up.How did Germany build up such military power house without being preemptively attacked? All of the reasons people say they werent attacked are excuses.

Also, no one wanted to go to war with Germany to begin with. They wanted to negotiate with diplomacy in order to avoid a war.It is a little ironic, prolonged peace actually killed more people later on.

Military Orders and Breaking the Lease - how early in advance can you move out?
My husband is deploying in May 2011 and I plan on moving back home with my family. I was wondering how early a person can move out of an apartment after giving the apartment representative an official copy of the military orders. Am I required to live in the apartment until May? Thanks for all help. I appreciate it!Military Orders and Breaking the Lease - how early in advance can you move out?even if you've given the landlord a copy of the orders, you still have to submit your notice to vacate in writing. ask the landlord if they will excuse you two from the lease early and whether or not you will get your deposit back. even if the reason you're breaking the lease is the military, the landlord will probably keep your deposit because she has to pay the expenses on the place while she finds a new tenant. if your lease states you have to give 30 or 60 days notice, then just write a note saying you intend to vacate as of Feb. 28th or whenever, and move out.Military Orders and Breaking the Lease - how early in advance can you move out?If your husband's name is the main name on the lease, then there IS a reason for you to be able to get out of the lease, because HE is the one leaving and he is the main person on the lease. There is no way that they could make you the sole person on the lease because you may not even qualify.
And yes the owner may be required to "give you a break." :P Depends on the details of the situation and the law.Military Orders and Breaking the Lease - how early in advance can you move out?
Basically yes. There is no reason for the owner to give you a break

How big are the houses on military bases?

How many helicopter pilots in the military will do this over the next five years?
Retire and use their helicopter experience to do non-military stuff with those skills? Any reliable source on how many did this in 2005 or 2006?How many helicopter pilots in the military will do this over the next five years?I would guess nearly all of them. Pilots are in high demand and the pay is good.
How do I get into a good college after being in the military?
Right out of high school I wasn't able to afford going to college so I decided to join the military. Now that my contract is nearing it's end I would like to go to college now. I've noticed that most good colleges accept most of their students straight out of high school. What can I do to distinguish myself from these young high school students when I have been out of school for 4+ years? How do I get into a good college after being in the military? What you do to distinguish yourself is serve honorably in the military - that single checkbox (is a veteran) is sufficient to put you into an entirely different group of applications from those recent HS grads. If you're also over 25 years old then you're firmly into that other application pool.
You'll find that most colleges will rubber stamp your admissions application and that's all there is to it. They don't even look at your HS record (except to see if you have a diploma) or SAT/ACT scores. That's probably about 90% of all schools - you're just in that easy. The financial aid folks will have a different view though and you'll have to be more creative than the HS crowd with scholarship applications.
Among the other 10% are some that don't want you at all. Not because you're military but because you're not in the 17-23 age group they like to get. Those tend to be "13th grade" anyway (they serve as an extension of childhood for parents that can't stand the idea of their "baby" growing up - they function as a closed environment young adult daycare and are threatened by adults entering the camp; you might corrupt the babies.) so you'd not want to go there. You can identify these by the very high percentage of students that live at home with mom and dad.
The other group is the very highly selective elite schools that will be happy to consider your application but will hold you to the same standards for admission as their transfer applicants. You'll need some really good academic history for those.
The main reason you're an auto-accept at most colleges is because that military mindset is ideally suited to success in college. Military folks rarely consider missing class because they'd rather sleep-in an acceptable option, for example. The military minded don't turn in an assignment days after it was due, if it's due on Friday - it's in on Friday (or before). The additional time to be exposed to some 'real-world' also gives you a significant advantage in coursework. World geography makes a little more sense when you've actually "been there". Don't think you have a disadvantage by having been in the military.international trucks acura tsx

How would out of state military get motorcycle class on his license?
Active duty, out of state military. I want to get a motorcycle but how would I be able to get my license updated if im not able to get back to my state. Im from illinois but there is nothing on the website about it.
Im stationed in texas, would i be able to get a license here as well as keep my illinois license, even if im not a resident of texas? How would out of state military get motorcycle class on his license? Most states have reciprocal agreement that if you are licensed in 1 state it is honored in another, so take the TX test and then add it to the Il license when you get back or just take the test again. How would out of state military get motorcycle class on his license?Sorry, but you cannot have more than one license at one time. You'd have to declare residency in Texas then transfer your Illinois license to Texas.
You can try contacting the Illinois Secretary of State (217) 782-6901 to see if they would accept a military motorcycle training certificate to add the endorsement to your license.

How do Military Hops work and who can use them?
How hard would it be to take a Military hop over seas and can you take family with you even if you are still in the Military? And if so what all or who do you need to talk to about doing that? How do Military Hops work and who can use them?Family meaning dependents who are registered in DEERS yes, you can take them with you if you are AD or Retiree when going overseas (OCONUS) or CONUS. If you are talking about father, mother, brother, sister who aren't your dependents then no you can't.
Flights vary from where they are going, what they are doing and what they do there. It can be anything from a Lear Jet to a commercial airline or a C130 or K135 or anything in between and beyond. You could be sitting in nice airline seats or in mesh seats or on the cold floor. You might have a decent toliet w/sink or you might be using a toliet surrounded by a shower curtain in the back of the plane. You might have movies or you might have to provide your own.
When you are flying you need to be prepared for delays, cancellations, getting bumped and everything else. Get ready to sit in a Military airport for hours, even days trying to get a flight somewhere, anywhere. If you are then great.
If you are AD then you can't sign up until you are on leave, but you do have a Priority over many others. You will be Category 3, and only be bumped by people on orders, or who signed up before you. If you are a Retiree then you are Cat 6 so you can get bumped a lot. Dependents can fly by themselves but only in certain conditions. 1) AD member deployed over 180 days, then everywhere is open to them; 2) AD member stationed overseas (not deployed, stationed) and going to visit them (requirement letter from AD command); and 3) AD %26amp; Family stationed overseas and coming stateside for a visit. But there is restrictions.
There is lots of websites where you can get information, click on some of them below. How do Military Hops work and who can use them?Any immediate family member of a service member (that means Spouse and kids BTW and not Mom, dad, cousins bothers or sisters etc...) can hop a military flight to any overseas destination (there was a period when it also available for inter USA travel but I am not sure if that is still available) on a space available capacity. It takes a little work to find the proper numbers to call for flight info and there are no guarantees that you will be able to get on a flight, that you won't get bumped off the flight at some random stopping point or that you can return by the same means. Costs for the flights are minimal and on most you can purchase a box lunch for a reasonable fee or snacks and sodas too. Some adventurous types just show up to a MAC terminal and take any flight thats available. Although those must be kind of hard to pack for.How do Military Hops work and who can use them?AMC Space A flights have lots of rules and regs.
generally speaking: you must be on Leave Dependents may ONLY fly if they are flying WITH their sponsor CONUS. they can only fly to and from OCONUS when stationed overseas on accompanied orders and have command sponsorship.
when their sponsor is deployed and they are residing OCONUS they can fly back to the states without the sponsor so long as they have a letter from the command stating he is on deployment.
you cannot sign up for a flight until you are on leave. you can and will be be bumped by people on orders or a higher category( Emergency leave, for instance).
it is frankly NOT an easy thing to get at all and ultimately you have to have back up plans for all stages. flights get canceled, people on orders get priority and you still have to be back when your leave is up.How do Military Hops work and who can use them?
You can catch a hop as Space A. You can take your family. But there will be a delay. There is a web site for Space A schedules and flights.

Whats the difference between the Military branches?
I know Navy is water,Air force deals with flying and army is land based.
What are the other differences between them? what do each one entail? doe you have to be on planes if your in the air force and for the navy are you always dealing with boats and stuff.
I'm 17 and a female and i need to know which one i should join and what i could do in each one and which would be best. I'm looking to do a sort of support role in the military.Whats the difference between the Military branches?Hello Kemi,
In the Air Force less than 5% of the 1/4 million people have anything to do with flying airplanes.
Most of us are IN support jobs that help the flying mission and the air base operate.
In the Navy most of the jobs are direct ship related work. Many females do go out to sea.

First SergeantWhats the difference between the Military branches?
All have land based support functions. A lot of those are about the same in all branches. The ordering, handling, testing, and distributing equipment, ordinance, and other materiel would be similar. So are train ing functions and planning. There is differences strategies and even more differences in tactics but the general missions are the same: attack, hold, and defend. The latter two are not always the same.
Only soldiers and marines regularly use small arms and then only the combat units, but all military are obligated to use those if the need arises. All three branches have special units that are expert with a variety of munitions. All three also have police units familiar with small arms.
The greatest difference was in heavier weapons and means of transport but even those have been somewhat standardized as missiles are replacing guns and bombs for many functions, and as the demarcation between transport blurs. Long ago it was claimed the army had more "boats" -- but probably not more ships -- than the navy. I also heard a statement that they had more "aircraft" than the Air Force or Navy, but I suspect most are helicopters. I think someone told me that the Navy had more aircraft than the Air Force, but I suspect that only has been so since WWII as some of the Air force's responsibilities moved to the more mobile Navy.Whats the difference between the Military branches?Air Force deals with more mathematics. They use their minds more than they use their muscle. Navy not really sure I think you do a lot of mathmatics and sailing. Army and Marines are kinda the same things expect Marines are more combat orientated. So it depends on what job you want talk to a recruiter and see what's out there for you.Whats the difference between the Military branches?
No you dont need to be in a plane in the airforce you can help construct them, and for the navy you could be on shore duty it depends what job you get, go to your recruiter then go to MEPS take the ASVAP and they will find the job thats best for you.Whats the difference between the Military branches?most jobs in he air force are not flying jobs theirs alot of computer work and mechanics same with navy although most work is done on ships for them they have navy bases were they stay when not at sea but they still have to do workWhats the difference between the Military branches?

How Many Military Personnel Will Be Disenfranchised In November?
Since military disenfranchisement is standard operating procedure in liberal counties, is there any reliable estimate of how many military voters will be disenfranchised this year? How Many Military Personnel Will Be Disenfranchised In November? As many as it takes to get the democrats in those districts elected.
It's not the first time that the democrats have tried to not count or allow military personnel to vote. It won't be the last.
To some democrats honesty in elections is just a suggestion. The end justifies the means. How Many Military Personnel Will Be Disenfranchised In November?
Prior to the Bush v. Gore election, military ballots were routinely not counted because the number of military votes was far fewer than the difference between the candidates so counting them would have made no difference in the results.
However, that election exposed this practice and why? Because each side desperately wanted those votes and BOTH sides immediately spoke out and insisted that these votes all be counted.
I don't know how the various states operate but in MY state, Illinois, when it was learned that some counties had mailed the military ballots late all candidates insisted upon haven them all counted. Why? Again, it is a really close race and each side wants the votes; and in this state the Democratic governer is very much pro military and the Reputlican challenger is an unknown, some state rep from downstate.
Truly it is not lib versus con, it is just a matter of whether the candidates NEED to have the votes counted. How Many Military Personnel Will Be Disenfranchised In November?Enough to secure the democratic victory.
Note that almost all of the states which are experiencing "delays" are run by democrats.
Note the most egregious violator, New York, has 320,000 citizens who will be disenfranchised.
Note that the military usually votes about 65% Republican.
Coincidence? Don't bet your life on it.
Thousands. And I know it doesn't take much to count them as I see in our county the Democrat commission chairman hires a few people to ride around and collect ballots from those too poor to otherwise vote and hand delivers them to his polling place where they are filled out and then counted. How Many Military Personnel Will Be Disenfranchised In November? It is my understanding, as many as 300,000 possible votes will go uncounted this November. It's an atrocity. The liberals call it an oversight. How Many Military Personnel Will Be Disenfranchised In November?
Need any more proof that 0-bama and the demmycraps revile the military and view them as nothing more than fourth-class citizens?
Almost all of them. What I find funny is; the military now has a lot of Democrats in it, especially from the Guard and reserve. If the Guard and reserve are deployed, they will likely get screwed out of their vote too.
When I was in the Army, not too long ago, very few soldiers admitted to being Democrats. I knew three. I was in the Army for 24 years.
The Democrats did everything they could to lose the Cold War to the Soviets and help Al Qaeda now.How Many Military Personnel Will Be Disenfranchised In November?

Can an atheist join the military with little to no discrimination?
My friend wants to join the military
He's an atheist
I HOPE that dosen't affect him joining
And if he does join, will people like single him out because of his beliefs. Can an atheist join the military with little to no discrimination? The simple answer is that there are regulations to prohibit religious discrimination - which includes against atheists. If your friend feels discriminated against by someone, because of his beliefs, he can talk to the EO office, who can advise him. EO is there for everyone.
Dean is correct in that you will not typically run into people who will try to push their religion onto you. Most people will simply live and let live - you do your thing, and they will do theirs, be it religion or whatever. Some, however, will hold his beliefs against him - and those people are the exception. That is when it needs to be addressed 鈥?thankfully, those people are few and far between.
If your friend is not a militant atheist, he should have no problems. He needs to understand, though, that many military functions have a secular prayer during it - it should NOT be to a specific religion. If a prayer is given to a specific religion, ex, in Jesus' name, that would be in violation of regulations.
However I think it is incorrect when stated that people seen in news stories are getting bent out of shape. Those you see on the news are standing up for their rights also. Their rights include not being forced to listen to non-secular prayers in a mandatory gathering. Yes, SOME atheists go overboard, as do some christians (and others of different religious beliefs). Some of those in the news have been vocal against items that are against military regulations (prayers to specific deities). Some have experienced a backlash when they attempted to take a complaint forward. That was the reasons given for going public. It is up to you to believe that or not.
Max is full of BS - there are and always have been atheists in foxholes, including during wartime - been there, done that, have the combat patch, and still atheist. Can an atheist join the military with little to no discrimination?
Yes, there are a lot of Christians in the military, and they're very open about it. My First Sergeant tells us all the time that he's praying for us, and my NCOs all wear crosses with their dogtags.
I'm a Christian, but was very surprised to find that there are so many enlisted. I think it's because they've been through so much during deployment, and faith is the only way they can cope with it.
But they're not at all discriminatory. They're all very open and accepting of all faiths. There are Sunday morning services, but you're not required to attend. On Sunday mornings during drill, our First Sergeant goes to every person not of the Christian faith and asks them whether they want to participate in the service. Occasionally they'll decline, but they usually do participate in the service, even the few Buddhists and Hindus.
If anyone singles him out, that person would probably be smoked, at least in our company. They don't put up with anyone picking on anybody, no matter what it is. And I haven't seen it being much of an issue anyway because everybody's there to do a job, and they need the support of those around them.
So he shouldn't let fear of discriminiation stop him from enlisting, I highly doubt he'll run into much of a problem. Can an atheist join the military with little to no discrimination?I'm joining the military as an agnostic. I think you meet all kinds of people in the military, he'd probably be surprised at the different types of people he meets. But I kinda get the feeling that the majority of enlisted people have the stereotype of being Christian, conservative, uneducated, and from lower income families. So I don't really know, but I'm sure it wouldn't be a huge problem unless he goes around shouting "there's no god!" or "Jesus was a lie!" or something like that.
I am currently a Major in the Army and I am an atheist. Everyone who knows me, knows I am and I have had no issues. I golf with the Chaplain all the time and we never even discuss religious issues. The guys you are talking about, on youtube and several news stories, are the ones who get all bent out of shape when the Chaplain delivers their prayer at a formation or something along those lines. Military life is pretty simple, those guys are deliberately making their own lives difficult. Can an atheist join the military with little to no discrimination? In theory, it shouldn't affect him serving. We are prohibited by regualtion to discriminate against anybody for their religion or lack of. However, that doesn't mean he won't be discriminated against. Most will leave him alone but some might say things to him asking why he is the way he is. He should be good and if someone discriminates against him he has the right to file a complaint. Can an atheist join the military with little to no discrimination?
NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Your friend will be the target of huge amounts of discrimination. When he joins, he will be FORCED to select a religion to be recorded in his file and to be stamped on his dog-tags. If he doesn't, they will put one on there anyway. And he will be "flagged" for his non-belief in a silly religion.
GoGo Girls: WRONG. Why do you think being an Atheist is a religion? Please research what an Atheist is before you ever speak about us again. Thank you.
The answer is no. It will not affect him. It doesn't matter what you believe. If he's gay, he CAN'T TELL ANYONE!!! Or else he'll get kicked out. That's pretty much it. But no he won't get singled out because he's an atheist.
You're welcome!!Can an atheist join the military with little to no discrimination?
No. Unless he tries to make it a big deal, nobody will even know. If he goes in with a chip on his shoulder -- doesn't want to hear anyone pray, gets offended if a Chaplain speaks to him -- he'll have problems.
I never had any problems with being an atheist in the military. It is one of the subjects you really shouldn't bring up anyways kind of like politics.
Sure they can. Why would you think there would be a problem. The military is represented by every religion out there.
Yeh, but back in WW2 we found out that they always changed their minds sooner or later. When that bullet hits the bone, they change. Pain brings on changes.

Note that the military usually votes about 65% Republican.
Coincidence? Don't bet your life on it.How Many Military Personnel Will Be Disenfranchised In November?Thousands. And I know it doesn't take much to count them as I see in our county the Democrat commission chairman hires a few people to ride around and collect ballots from those too poor to otherwise vote and hand delivers them to his polling place where they are filled out and then counted.
It is my understanding, as many as 300,000 possible votes will go uncounted this November. It's an atrocity. The liberals call it an oversight. How Many Military Personnel Will Be Disenfranchised In November?
As many as it takes to get the democrats in those districts elected.
It's not the first time that the democrats have tried to not count or allow military personnel to vote. It won't be the last.
To some democrats honesty in elections is just a suggestion. The end justifies the means.
How Many Military Personnel Will Be Disenfranchised In November?
Care to explain how "military disenfranchisement is standard operating procedure in liberal counties"? I seem to remember that a lot of overseas military people got screwed out of having their votes counted in Florida in 2000 by GOPster Katherine Harris.
What is the relationship between the president and military based on?
a. whether or not there is a war
b. civilian control of the military
c. congressional control of the militiary
d. whether the president has credibility, or has served in the military
thanks in advance! What is the relationship between the president and military based on?None of these -- the President is Commander in Chief per the Constitution. War must be declared by the Congress, but the president has rights to use the military without their consent, up to I think 48 hours, before addressing the issue with them. Also, Congress writes the nation's spending bills (pretty sure it's the Senate specifically,) thus having the control of the President's ability to wage war. They can refuse to fund any war, intervention, or peace action at any time they choose. What is the relationship between the president and military based on?Civilian control of the military is the basis on which the military is run. Otherwise, the military could end up operating as a separate entity and could get out of control. What are the highest paying civilain jobs that are transferable from the military?
What MOS's or ratings will pay well when you get out of the military? What are the highest paying civilain jobs that are transferable from the military?Something in Intel, Medical, Air traffic control, computer related, etc. You can easily transfer to a government agency with many jobs and be a civilian. Also, look at the re-enlistment bonuses, if they are trying to retain a certain job that is usually because the civilian sector is paying more for that job. What are the highest paying civilain jobs that are transferable from the military?
Medicine

How do civilians percieve the military and war?
I am in the U.S. Army, I've been deployed to Iraq before. I'm curious what people think of the military now as opposed to lets say soldiers returning from the Vietnam war. Also how do civilians look at the Iraq and Afghanistan wars? How do civilians percieve the military and war?I think that many civilians now adays don't agree with the wars, but they are more positive and willing to support the troops. Troops get more support now then the troops from the vietnam war and it is weird because during that period some troops didn't have a choice they just got drafted and today is an all volunteer army, so that means people are choosing this career field. You would think that troops from the vietnam era would have gotten more support because they were forced into it.How do civilians percieve the military and war?Thank You for Your Service!
I went in the Army under Carter and got out under Reagan.
You had some Radical Anus's that truly were against the people in our military. Did thing like call them "Baby Killers" and Spit on them when they'd pass. You still have some of that I suppose as there still are the Clueless.
You folks are over There Do-in! Don't let Anyone, take that away from you. You people are doing a great job of taken care of Each Other! That's the most important thing you can do! Hopefully all of you will be coming home Sooner then Later! Hopefully we will get those responsible for 911.
Pay Attention, but don't loose your sense of Humor. Remember, Paying Attention doesn't cost you anything.

I'm doing my part and Voting! How do civilians percieve the military and war?First of all, THANK YOU for your service in the army, and defending our freedoms from all who threaten us.
Not everyone honors our warriors as much as some, they treat it as not a big deal sometimes, it really depends on the person.
Theres a lot of nutjobs around here. Some even want our soldiers to die, like a few radical church groups ("Thank God for dead soldiers") Some people are against the war because of how tightly the liberal media controls so many people, and others don't like the war because they dislike the United States, even though they live here.....
As a civilian myself, I'm glad we're over there getting rid of the people who would kill all of us if they were given the chance.

Why do they call them military contractors instead of mercenaries?
I never heard of a military contractor before the Iraq war. It seems they are private for profit soldiers. Isn't this what a mercenary is? And if so, why the fancy new expression? Why do they call them military contractors instead of mercenaries?because they are 2 seperate jobs. and no a mercenary is not just a private for profit soldier.
britannica defines a mercenary as "hired professional soldier who fights for any state or nation without regard to political interests or issues."
PMCs do not fit this description for several reasons.
1: they do not fight. they are not used as offensive troops by any means. they will defend themselves, their assigned person, and their place of duty if needed, but they do not go out to fight.
2: they do not serve any state or nation. you will never see aegis working in a place that britain is not taking part of, or british diplomats/interests are not. same for triple canopy, only in regards to the US.
3: PMCs tend to be deeply invested in political issues. they're not some outside gun for hire that you hire for a job then part ways. Why do they call them military contractors instead of mercenaries?
For one, the name mercenaries brings up negative thoughts.
Second , Mercenaries are ones who can be hired by anyone, follow no direct rules, etc.
Military Contract companies have to follow certain rules. They are a company , they cannot be hired by anyone, they have certain cliental , etc.
Private Military Companies have been around way before IRAQ , but Iraq is where it grew, black water became a big name, and people saw the down sides of PMC's.
ALSO BEING A MERCENARY IS ILLEGAL.
Private military companies are LEGAL.Why do they call them military contractors instead of mercenaries?Mercenaries carry out combat operations.
There are no civilian security contractors, carrying out combat operations in Iraq or Afghanistan.
They are not soldiers, they are security guards.
They don't attack anyone, they don't go on patrols.
They guard diplomats
Do you think a Brinks guard is a mercenary ?
or some celebrity body guard is a mercenary ?
NOTE: PMC's private military contractors
Mean all contractors, the cooks, truck drivers, laundry, ware house, construction, etc
Not just security contractors.
Even the Pentagon has become rife with politics. They must have a room in the back somewhere with some colonel that's charged with thinking up new sugar coatings for words that have negative connotations. "Contractors" is just a nicer word for mercenary, or hired gun, or assassin. Why do they call them military contractors instead of mercenaries?Mercenaries sound bad...military contractor sounds like a builder in the military (something like a civilian contractor) at least to the average American (which in case you haven't realized, isn't that bright!)!Why do they call them military contractors instead of mercenaries?
Mercenaries are usually individuals while these people are in a company and have to obey orders and have specific responsibilities.
Political correctness. Mercenary has such a negative connotation. Being termed a contractor implies that they operate under some Federal or Dept of Defense guidelines. Why do they call them military contractors instead of mercenaries?
Same reason that shell shock became post traumatic stress disorder. Mercs have a negative connotation attached to them so they are seen as bad.
The same reason janitors are called custodial services, less negative connotation

Yeah ribbons get destroyed if they get cleaned. Your gonna have to buy new ones like my husband and myself did.How do I clean my military ribbons?Take them to the dry cleaners. Anything else you do will either smudge them more or make them run.How do I clean my military ribbons?
Never cleaned mine. When I set up a new ribbon rack, I sprayed mine with Scotchguard. It doesn't put a shine that is unauthorized and it keeps them looking good for years.
ribbons or medals?
ribbons- buy new ones - google Internet military awards/ medals sitesHow do I clean my military ribbons?
Spend the money on new ones. Right after the inspection, wrap them in tissue paper, then seal them in a zip-lock baggie, then store them in a place out of the sunlight.
I've had the same rack of ribbons for the past couple years and they look as though I just bought them.
You gotta buy new ones. Have you tried the flat plastic ones yet?
Just go to clothing sales and buy some new ones...they are like a buck a piece you cheap ****
I used a toothbrush and warm water with baking soda in it. Just brush them lightly with a toothbrush moistened with the Baking Soda water until they are as clean as you would like them. Mine were over 40 years old when I did them and they are just about perfect after I dried them and brushed them off. What ribbons do you have? Any Green Weinies?
Better off just paying a couple dollars to get a new one. Anytime my ribbons got soiled for whatever reason, that's what I did. I was an inspection king!
I just bought new ones for every inspection.
