A few years ago i got a harry potter dvd collection (1-5) for xmas or a birthday and i never watched them and soon go packed away during moving. Well since the very last movie is in theaters now i searched through long forgotten boxes so me and my bf could watch these and the other remaining movies before going to see the last one. Well apparently one of my online-shopper relatives must have ordered this and its from another region (im guessing region 2 because the title on the first movie is harry potter and the philosophers stone: europe release name)
Anyway ive been searching for 2 days straight for a solution and cant find one. Ive downloaded other media players that are supposed to ignore region coding, ect. But my main problem seems to be that neight my laptop or desktop dvd drives are recognizing that their is even a dvd in there. If i dbl click the d drive, the drive pops out and asks me to insert a disc. I know i have 4 chances to change regions on each drive but again i cant change the drive because it says i need that regions media in the drive and the drive doesnt recognize that i have a disc in there.... they read any other dvd, cd, or game, just not the dvds in this collection. How to play another region dvd on my computer?
Region Code (RC) is a DRM technique developed to allow movie studios to control DVD/Blu-ray releases according to the region, including content, release date, and price. RC is encoded in the DVD/Blu-ray video disc to restrict the area in which it can be played. For this problem, I have been using passkey for a long time to help you change the dvd /bluray region code as required and remove all the copyright protections for your personal enjoyment.
